Do the following as the super user (root) if you never used 2.6 kernel
or if you haven't done it already:

	mkdir /sys


The 2.6 (and recent 2.5.x) linux kernel series require that you have
some things compiled in the kernel as opposed to having them as modules.

If you have the following problems or if you want to avoid recompiling
the kernel few times if you miss 2.6 speciffic stuff, follow the
solutions below by opening the .config file in your kernel source
directory (e.g. /usr/src/linux) and making sure you have the
described lines and those are uncommented (no '#' in front).


1. The system doesn't seem to boot but there seems to be disk activity
