Happy new kernel!!! 2.6.0 is now stable and the patch is current as well. Enjoy!

Haven't had the time to update/work on this page lately. Was too busy, not only with school but with other stuff/problems as well. Needed a break for few days (after the end of the semester) and I plan on having a good rest during the upcoming holidays as well. I worked a bit on Gv4l yesterday though and plan on releasing a new version shortly...

I gotta finish the configuration and stuff and install my new server as well. So far I got Mandrake 9.2 installed and still have to copy all the stuff over. I feel kinda sad about RedHat's decision of abandoning RedHat Linux and focus on the enterprise only but that's life... I don't think Fedora is yet ready for server (and that it will ever be). Gentoo is great but it's sometimes easy to break so I decided to go with Mandrake for server. We'll see the result later today or tomorrow...and off to bed I go....

Well, I finally decided to give this site a new face. Hope there won't be any breakage but there's never 100% guarantee.... If you find something broken, please let me know and I'll fix ASAP.

Other than that there's not much going on. Been way too busy with school lately =( Other news...GentooUser is no longer under my maintainance since Scooter sold it without even telling me he plans to do so... I'm still upset but it's time to move on. For all of you that used the already out of date ebuilds on that site, I apologize and I'll try to put up updated versions on this site or on LNX coders (haven't decided yet) since I don't feel like emailing everything to the new owner of GentooUser, waiting for him to upload, etc.

That's all for now, I'll continue on working on the new site; hope you like it better.

I never thought the SCO's bullshit case was gonna get this far. I just think IBM just let em do it just to smash em harder. As we can see here SCO's just trying to fool naive people. But who's so stupid to believe that crap?!?! Do they believe it themselves? There gotta be a real reson behind it. The only logical explanation I see is that they're real broke and need to either yank money by fooling a fool or provoke IBM or someone else to buy em (or rather buy the precious code they "own"?). In any case they just played the whole thing real bad; as bad as "their" code - 'because developers complained about how "ugly" it was'. That's all I wanted to say about SCO.

I recently took over GentooUser. I'm still looking for Gentoo users with ideas/stuff for that site; I got no suggestions/responses so far...

Oh, and yes, I almost forgot - the famous "blackout" was here... It was so nice and silent...I kinda miss it...

That's all for now; I'm still working on the projects as you may have already noticed. Help is always welcome.

Hmmm it's saturday... it's raining... the perfect time to update webpages... Speaking of webpages finally decided to move Gv4l to a separate page a while ago. So, I decided to put up some other stuff on the projects page. Just put up a new patch for the 2.6.0-test1 kernel, for example. You are more than welcome to go there and get whatever you want. I upgraded my server as well, that had to be done long ago but didn't do it for uptime reasons =)

It's been a while since the last post. Finally managed to finish up and upload Gv4l 2.0.0 few hours ago. I just got back from a short vacation the other day and decided that it's time to clean it up and release it. I'm really excited about this release cause of the really kewl new features and look. Hope everyone using Gv4l will like it as well as the new users.

I also fully converted to Gentoo Linux after I gave RedHat 9.0 a try. My installation was too bloated after around 2 years anyways, so I decided to start a clean Gentoo setup. Honestly RedHat 9.0 was a huge step over 8.0 but I felt the need for some more control and experimenting.

I also put up a Mozilla ebuilds page for Gentoo's portage. I'll try to keep ebuilds for latest releases (unless those are in portage) and/or latest nigtly builds there.

There are some important changes regarding Gv4l. Visit the Projects Page for details.

Another two busy and quite lazy months... Finally got my mail hosted again by myself though. Thanks to DomainMX it is possible to receive my mail, bypassing the blocked by the ISP port.
Couple of hours ago I noticed that RedHat 9.0 is "officially" released and got the chance to download it. The CDs are in the "cooking" process atm. I'll have the chance to give it a try tomorrow but I'm not sure what to expect. As previously discussed, I didn't like many things about 8.0 and on top of that RedHat recently made some changes, so that even the update service seems to be "trial" now :( Very dissapointing after years of non-demo accounts... I'll try to get an update about 9.0 in the next couple of days.

It's been quite a while since the last post. As usual too lazy, even way too lazy, to do anything related to this page. Even been too lazy to work on Gv4l :( Thought about working on it during the winter break but ... yeah lazy! And I needed a break too.

And if you wonder why I finally decided to write something (after like 4months) it's because I have nothing better to do right now. School network went down couple of hours ago as a reflection of the cool Internet happenings earlier today. Thanks again Micro$oft! If you have no idea what I'm talking about you just need to know the following IIS+M$ $QL+Anything else M$=Hell+Trouble for everyone.

Well anyways... I better start something more positive. Don't know what though. Had rough couple of months. Tried to put Gentoo Linux on my main box and I actually did it but I ended up messing it up... AGAIN! I couldn't get my printer to work so after couple of weeks (well maybe not more than 1hr/day) efforts to build all the things I needed and to configure it my way I ended up pulling back RH 7.3 from the backup :( I could have lived with the other small problems I had but I needed the printer real bad. It didn't wanted to work after I upgraded CUPS to ver. 1.1.18 which is supposed to plug not only the security holes but any chance to print again as well. I tried downgrading and stuff without any success. I guess I'll be stuck with RH for a while since I don't really have the time to rebuild Gentoo or do something else to the box right now.
